SLR vrs. Digital?

SLR vrs. Digital

I've been debating over the last few weeks - SLR or Digital? Lots say digital is easier, but less professional. Others say that an SLR is too expensive for the results they produce. After looking at both arguments, I have come to the conclusion that I'd be better off with SLR. So, I have cancelled my digital camera order (the company, however, have swallowed my deposit. Nice of them.) and am planning on a Cannon ESO350D. But I'd still like to see what others think. Any opinion on this matter?
